What SIM and data plan do I need?

Trail cameras work with any standard SIM from EE, Vodafone, O2 or Three — whichever has the best signal in your remote location. You can bring your own SIM or buy a pre-configured one from us ready to go.

Data usage is very low because the camera only uploads when triggered. Most customers use 2–10 GB per month depending on how many photos are captured. A basic pay-as-you-go SIM is usually enough, and some models support dual-SIM failover for extra reliability in weak-signal areas.

How often does the camera send photos?

Every time the PIR sensor detects movement, plus you can set scheduled intervals (like every hour) for time-lapse monitoring.

Can someone steal the camera?

We recommend lockable steel security boxes and cable locks. The camera can also send tamper alerts and its last GPS location if moved.

What's the detection range?

PIR detection typically covers 15–20 metres with a 120° angle. You can adjust sensitivity to reduce false triggers from small animals or wind-blown branches.

How long do the batteries last?

AA lithium batteries typically last 3–12 months depending on how often the camera triggers. Add a solar panel for year-round operation without battery changes.

Will the infrared light scare wildlife?

No-glow infrared models are completely invisible to animals and people. Low-glow versions produce a faint red glow but capture slightly clearer night images.

Do I need planning permission?

Not usually for temporary wildlife monitoring on your own land. For permanent surveillance of public areas or neighbours' property, check local council rules and privacy guidance.

Can I view photos without going to the site?

Yes, all images and video clips upload to the cloud over 4G and you receive instant push notifications on your phone wherever you are.
