ATEX Cameras — Explosion-Proof Zone 1 & 2 CCTV

ATEX and IECEx certified cameras for hazardous and explosive environments.

ATEX-rated CCTV cameras are certified for use in explosive atmospheres where flammable gases, vapours, mists or combustible dusts may be present. Our range includes Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22 certified cameras in fixed, PTZ and thermal configurations. All cameras feature robust stainless steel or marine-grade aluminium housings with intrinsically safe electronics. 4G-connected variants are available for remote offshore platforms, oil wells and mining operations without network infrastructure.

Key features

What SIM and data plan do I need?

Our 4G-enabled ATEX cameras work with any UK network — EE, Vodafone, O2 or Three — using a standard unlocked SIM. You can bring your own data SIM or buy a pre-configured one from us. Dual-SIM models are available for critical sites where failover between networks is essential.

Expect to use around 20–60 GB per month per camera, depending on resolution and recording schedule. Continuous streaming uses more data than motion-triggered recording. We recommend business data plans with predictable monthly costs and no usage caps.

Frequently asked questions

What ATEX zones do you cover?

We supply cameras certified for Zone 1, Zone 2 (gas and vapour), Zone 21 and Zone 22 (dust). Contact us to confirm which certification matches your site requirements.

Can I use standard cameras in hazardous areas?

No — standard cameras can create sparks or heat that ignite explosive atmospheres. Only certified equipment is legal and safe in classified hazardous zones.

Do you supply complete ATEX CCTV systems?

Yes — we supply cameras, housings, junction boxes, cabling and recorders, all certified. We can design a complete system tailored to your site.

How long does installation take?

Installation typically takes 1–3 days depending on the number of cameras and site complexity. A qualified installer familiar with hazardous area work is required.

What warranty do ATEX cameras come with?

Most models carry a 2–3 year manufacturer warranty. We also offer extended support and maintenance contracts for critical installations.

Can I view footage remotely from offshore platforms?

Yes — our 4G-connected models let you view live and recorded video from anywhere with mobile signal, ideal for remote oil rigs and mining sites.

Are thermal cameras available in ATEX versions?

Yes — we supply certified thermal cameras for fire detection and temperature monitoring in hazardous zones where early warning is critical.
