Fortix AI — AI CCTV Video Intelligence (UK)

Transform existing CCTV into AI agents that watch, understand and act — industry-trained models, edge-box deployment, live in under 24 hours.

Fortix AI turns every camera in your estate into an autonomous monitoring agent. Their platform connects to any IP, RTSP, cloud or FTP camera via a Fortix AI edge box, then runs industry-trained detection models 24/7 — trespass, fire & smoke, fly-tipping, PPE, ANPR, weapons & violence, anti-social behaviour, occupancy and more. Incidents are flagged the moment they occur, with timestamped video evidence delivered to a unified dashboard and to any device. Plug in, connect, and you're live in minutes — no rip-and-replace, no complex integration. As Fortix's UK technology partner we package the platform with our cameras, connectivity and engineering as a single solution.

Key features

What makes Fortix AI different from generic motion-trigger CCTV

Conventional CCTV and most camera-vendor AI is built around motion — something moves, the recorder fires, somebody trawls the footage afterwards. Fortix AI is built around behaviour and context. "Reads behaviour, not just motion" is their core design tenet, and it changes what's actually achievable. A fly-tipping incident isn't just "vehicle pulled up in field" — it's "vehicle pulled up, person got out, opened back of vehicle, deposited material, drove off", with the number plate, make and model captured automatically. Without the behavioural layer, every other detection is noise.

The other big design choice is the edge-box architecture. Lots of "AI CCTV" runs entirely in the cloud — which means streaming raw video continuously to somewhere external, which is a non-starter on 4G sites, anything with data-residency rules and any client who's serious about GDPR. Fortix's edge box runs the inference locally and only sends the structured event data and short evidence clips to the cloud. That's why an off-grid solar 4G mobile CCTV camera can run a full Fortix agent stack without melting the data plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to replace our cameras to use Fortix AI?

No. Fortix AI works with any IP, RTSP, cloud or FTP camera you already have. You add a Fortix AI edge box, connect your cameras to it, and the platform handles the rest — no camera replacement, no VMS swap.

How quickly can it be deployed?

Under 24 hours from edge-box delivery to live operation on a typical site. The edge box ships pre-configured, your cameras connect through it, and you log into the cloud dashboard for the live feeds, alerts and incident reports.

Who is Fortix AI?

Fortix AI is our specialist video-analytics partner. They build the underlying AI platform — the edge box, the industry-trained model library, the cloud dashboard and the custom-training pipeline. We provide the cameras, connectivity, deployment and UK technical support, sold and supported as one combined solution.

Which detection models are available out of the box?

People & vehicle detection, fire & smoke, fly-tipping (with paired ANPR), anti-social behaviour, perimeter / access-zone monitoring, PPE compliance, weapons & violence, licence-plate recognition. Active expansion areas include shoplifting & theft, occupancy & people counting, facial recognition for access control and watchlists, rural crime detection, and environmental hazard monitoring. Custom models can be commissioned for site-specific classes.

What does the dashboard show?

Live camera feeds with AI overlay highlighting detections in real time, push notifications for priority incidents, server-health monitoring across the estate, and auto-generated incident reports with timestamped video evidence for each alert.

Is it GDPR-compliant?

Yes. Fortix AI is secure by design — encryption end-to-end, GDPR-compliant infrastructure. On-prem inference is available where data residency requires it, and we provide DPIA templates and data-retention policies aligned to ICO guidance.

Where does the AI actually run — edge or cloud?

The platform is hybrid: the Fortix AI edge box handles real-time inference on-site (so video doesn't have to leave your network), while the cloud dashboard delivers the live feeds, alerts and incident management. You get edge performance with cloud convenience.

What's the commercial model?

Custom-quoted per deployment — Fortix prefers proposal-based pricing scoped to your camera count, site count and selected industry-trained agents. Trade and framework pricing is available through our UK account team. Pilot deployments on a small camera count can typically be live within a working day for evaluation.
